Initial report had it that the death toll of the slain Nigerian Army personnel were 44 but the number keeps building up by the day and this killing has put the government of President Muhammadu Buhari under real scrutiny.
Reno Omokri a known critic of the All Progressive Congress APC government headed by Muhammadu Buhari has called out the Nigerian President via a statement he made on social media wherein he claimed the Presidency has failed to respond to the killings of the 144 soldiers by Boko Haram ever since the incidence occurred in Borno State, Nigeria.
The Boko Haram militias has overrun military formations in the North East of Nigerian which is the stronghold of the terrorist group, as a result, killing a great number of the Nigerian Army military personnel few days ago with the death toll continuously rising.
Reno Omokri referred to a statement credited to Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 January 13, where Buhari as an opposition leader lambasted the then administration of Goodluck Jonathan for ignoring and playing down the death of “Nigerian citizens” with Buhari referring to the attitude as “heart-breaking” insisting that such “must change”.
Reno Omokri wrote “Read Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 tweet accusing then President Jonathan of ignoring the deaths of soldiers killed by Boko Haram because of elections. One week after 118 soldiers were slaughtered by Boko Haram, Buhari has said NOTHING!”
